Autumn of Autism

Posted on Aug 28, 2008 under autism checklist |

Once there was the Summer of Sam, and now it is time to plunge in the abyss of autism and Asperger, with yours truly.

Next to delightfully filming 2 squirrels, I almost made a fatal fall (pun intended) in the legendary Putberg.

Yet now I am out of the woods! (and FEATURED, in Travel & Places)

  2. Bopkasen Says:

Nice but I be bored …
Nice but I be bored to play Commodore. :P

  3. Perico1973 Says:

    No I have never …
No I have never seen tales of the Abyss, I just like the word, and the movie by James Cameron.

The music, isn’t MIDI exactly, but a Commodore 64 games music file. It is SID format, which I converted to WAVE.

The game is OCEAN LOADER, and is composed by Martin Galway, one of the best C64 music composers.

Those files aren’t big, and there is a special SID player to play them with. If you can’t find em online, please say so.

  4. Bopkasen Says:

    Don’t hit me but I …
Don’t hit me but I am obsess with video game music and I like MIDI format. It kind of techno to me.

My video in YouTube I uploaded but I have Asperger Syndrome.

Now can I have that music?

I noticed you said Abyss of autism. You don’t happen to be a fan of Tales of Abyss?

    Die, enormous …
Die, enormous bastard. With a burning cross in your yard!

    Hohohoho thank you, …
    Hohohoho thank you, amigo!
I should have rephrased that, to American Republican senators or congress man who are against any American citizen costing the society money, possibly.

So they basically say: autists, don’t be a wuss, eat a balanced diet and go working on the chain gang!

  8. Somuchtosay2006 Says:

    HAHA That was …
HAHA That was awesome man, “Don’t listen to the Americans, they say ohh aspergers is high functioning autism, fix it with a diet, BOLOGNA!” XD lol!

  9. sak1974 Says:

    Nice, I also love …
Nice, I also love the intro tune of Y R Kung Fu by M. Galway (based on Jarre’s Magnetic Field 4).

Again, thanks for your video. Really nice place you are there.

  10. D0NJUAN666 Says:

    That’s “Auf …
That’s “Auf Wiedersehen Monty”, a C64 game with music from the legendary Rob Hubbard (together with Martin Galway and Fred Gray, the best C64 composers).

I guess I used it as well, in video nr. 7 from Mallorca, the Grand Excursion, at the monastery of LLuc.

Yeah it is scary, but then I have in my cabinet a fine collection of horror movies, and since I constrain myself most of the times, sometimes I like to shock — a bit ;)

  11. D0NJUAN666 Says:

    It’s typical that …
It’s typical that Asperger scientists foremost see the benefits, they’re so in love with their numbers they consider it a plus ;)

I can have special interests as well, that can consume my time for months, and which are later forever left alone.

  12. D0NJUAN666 Says:

    Thank you for the …
Thank you for the reference article! I guess a fine selection of writers have Asperger’s as well.

But on a personal note I’d object to the form mild autism. I’m just as autistic, it’s only that my mind can camouflage and recognize things. Yet it is a hard struggle, and it determined my life in such a way, that it is unforbidding, and I only have restricted choices at my disposal.

  13. sak1974 Says:

    What’s the final …
What’s the final song? (kind of a scary way of ending the video)

  14. sak1974 Says:

    Nice video. Vernon …
Nice video. Vernon Smith, who earned the Nobel Prize of Economics in 2002, has spoken about the benefits of mild autism (Asperger Syndrome) in a recent interview.

    At the moment …
At the moment separatism is low on Quebec’s list of priorities, the environment and health being the most pressing issues in that province. Political parties that once had no chance against the separatist parties in Quebec have also recently been elected in several ridings there. At the moment Quebec has strong lobbies so they get lots of federal funding.

  16. D0NJUAN666 Says:

    Most certainly, a …
Most certainly, a cause of concern. South of the borer, the Dutch speaking Flemings and the French Walloons seem to head towards the desintegration of Belgium, on a sidenote..

Do you think one day the same will happen to Canada in this respect, or are things more unified, and you don’t have ridiculous laws like in Belgium? (like, if they get a bridge, the other side gets a bridge too, even if it is not needed).

  17. canucktunes Says:

    I haven’t run into …
I haven’t run into anything i’d describe as “panic” here in Ottawa. People are concerned. They don’t want the government to short change the potential of individuals with the disorder.

  18. Yellowcatz Says:

    Exactly!
    Exactly!

  19. D0NJUAN666 Says:

    Hahaha no I don’t …
Hahaha no I don’t mind, I already used the Duke Nukem “BALLS OF STEEL” intro in one of my videos ;)

Maybe I don’t see it as much as having the balls, but view it as a personal necessity to live the life I lead — I simply cannot do it any other way, and at the time feel convenient this way.

Of course ‘normal’ ppl want the career, wife, garden, big house, car and kids, that is why they would never make the choice. OR yes they dont want to be an outsider to society.

  20. Yellowcatz Says:

    You are a very …
You are a very brave man!! Society dictates conformity, but the only true progression and advancement for society must step outside of that, not many people have the balls to do it! You got big balls, if you don’t mind me saying:)))))

  21. D0NJUAN666 Says:

    It’s the world as …
It’s the world as it is that has a problem with autists, we ourselves don’t, we just see it in a different way, and didn’t choose the society it came with. :)

  22. D0NJUAN666 Says:

    Maybe the science …
Maybe the science has a hard time with the fact, there is little you can do really. The genetic condition is so deeply rooted in the personality and actions…

Basically, an autist deserves his happiness. If it were to be he is exposed to a lifetime of intensive group therapy and sessions, where he is taught and remodelled to become somewhat of a model citizen..

  23. D0NJUAN666 Says:

    In my honest …
In my honest opinion, behaviour modification sounds like a very bad thing. Only thing an autistic child needs, is a somewhat protected home environment, a school where it feels accepted at least by some ppl and a teacher.

Autists have immense trouble with doing something against their will or human nature, and behaviour modification sounds just like it.

  24. dinahkcm Says:

    wonderful, and …
wonderful, and straight into the posautive youtube group and its adults and sense sub-groups - you may enjoy other videos in those groups. Thank you!

  25. dinahkcm Says:

    But it is …
But it is hysterical conviction that every autistic child “needs” intensive behaviour modification, which is fuelling the panic in Ontario - this is based on bad ’science’ - support is needed Yes! but let the parents choose what’s best?
